Bog Wood & Plants

Hey,
i have had bog wood in my tank for about 9 weeks now, i think, anyway i would like to know how long i can keep ot there for
i dont know if it actually is working anymore or if it is still lowering the pH

also while i'm here i will bring up my plants
i have two plants but they have seemed to die. i'm not sure if this is normal??, i have had my light on for 8 hours but i read i needed it for 11 hours so i re-set my timer for 11 hours

please help though, even just a quick answer, it wont take long

you can keep bogwood in for as long as you like =] it just adds to the decor, what did you need to lower your ph for?

with the plants do you know the species? do you know if they went yellow/brown and died? as that could be nutrient deficiency so a plant food will be in order depending on where you live i can recommend something!

Sandzee, as Mewmew said, the bog wood is a decoration. The fact that it sometimes will affect pH a bit is something to keep in mind when you add it, but it will have little effect on water that is high in mineral content.
Plants in a home tank that has standard lights over it often do not get enough light to survive. If we knew what plants you have and the tank size and light wattage, we might be able to advise you on what to do to have more success.
