Blue Tetra Pain!

I still think it would be helpful to know the footprint of the tank - since cochu's are very active they need enough space to be active in, otherwise they will get spooked. Also, as soon as you can, the water stats, as that is another factor that is likely to be relevant.
And almost certainly, the lack of a school is another factor influencing the fish's behaviour. This is of course a problem when you come to the end of a school-sooner or later you are going to be left with a sole survivor; our concern is to make sure it is not sooner than the fish's natural lifespan.

this tank is more depth than length although mine is more length than depth which is better??? i did not know this to be fair..........THIS IS HELPFUL ADVICE! fot tht it is in about 2 width 4 up

????

number 1 - this is not my tank
number 2 - it isnt overstocked at all there is alot of available space.
number 3 - the rosey barb actually belongs to me as i have two more tanks of my own and its partner is being treated in a hospital tank.

i am just estimating the nitrite reading to be honest as i am at work and i am having to sort things at the moment

The tank had ich in and ive added treatment so to be honest i havent tested because i wasnt sure if this would effect quality.

would the ich be the root cause?????

But you said :
"I have one blue tetra. Boehlkea fredcochui [Cochu's blue tetra]
URM..... Basically the situation is that i only have one.... this being the reason that they are a pain and i am waiting for them to slowly fade away from my tank. Currently its in my tank downstairs".

This would lead one to understand that it is your tank when you said it was!
If you state stats' it is assumed that you have tested the water. You cannot 'estimate' or 'guess' at stats.
If you say things which aren't true, how can anyone offer any help or advice?

 yes you are true. But i do feel alot of bullying goes on on here! The situation is tricky basically to fill you all in with my fish troubles.....

When i first started i had a aquastart 500 which i cycled and all was smooth but i filled it as a newbie. and ran outa space. so i brought a new tank 125l juwel and gave my as500 to my mum BUT whilst i was cycling my larger tank with no fish and ammonia it went terribly wrong as the ammonia would not dissolve and the cycle would not start and then my old tank cracked and leaked so i didnt have a cycled tank and 7000 fish! my mum brought a new tank as the lfs accepted the tank was faulty as it was not the only one reported. so the fish was actually mine and when i brought it i was not aware of the requirements as it was one of my first and no body told me i just chose them cuz they were purply!

now i have 3 cycled tanks so therefore i can move him it is no problem plus myfella has 3/4 tanks so this is no issue!

the reason I asked was that active fish need room to swim around, and as fish tend to swim horizontally, not vertically, that means they need a longer tank. this may be part of the problem too, 2 foot is really not a lot for a fast active swimmer to move around in; I was thinking of buying a school of cochu's last year but decided against it, because I thought my tank was too small

now how about those water stats?

ammonia 0
nitrite - clear
ph-8

like i said when i brought this fish i was unaware of its reqirements my tank is much longer and my fella has longer still. its just how can i be sure the fish wont jump in my tank bein about 4 foot

when they were in aqua start500 which is way too small they didnt jump but valid as it was miss wiggle stated they needed friends. and this was so i had 3

thanks for help :good:
