Hi

Looking to get a pair for my 150 l tank and am looking into conditions. My tank will be heavily planted with a pH around 6 - 6.5, my greatest concern is the water hardness. I have 16dH from the tap, when i know it needs to be between 2dH and 8dH. Is this simply a case of 70% RO water and top up from tap (meaning i will need to buy an RO unit. Any other ways to drop this?

Thanks

You can try rainwater, but I am far from an expert.

You can filter your water through peat moss. It can be time consuming but very inexpensive.

I've kept German Blues in ph8 @ 25 degrees for 18 months and the spawned numerous times. Just regular water changes mate.

All this 'ideal' water stuff is mostly b*llox. Just don't go putting Clown Fish in your outdoor pond ;)
