Blue Ram Starving To Death.

He has internal parasites then, to be hoenst i would end his misery he's not going to make it, the parasites have done there worse they damage the insides of the fish.
Some other fish could be infected to, the only med is levimsole from a vet.
Though bloo has an article i will find it for you.

Contact a vet, try to get dimetronidazole. In the U.S. we can get metronidazole from nearly any lfs, the symptoms you describe sound like hexamita, an internal parasite. I've had angels & an oscar with the same symptoms, metro is the key.

if i can get hold of this metro shall i treat my whole tank incase others have contracted it or only my ram?

rams are pretty prone to fish tb are they not?

getting skinny and wasting away sounds like fish tb.. I've had rams die because of it.. and I'm pretty sure rams are kinda prone to it

well i have had the pair for a few months now and the nitrates have always been that level and it's never been a problem and the female's fine.
There is no bent spine so I'm not sureit's TB

Go in with the med then, check ph as some dewormers need a certain ph to be affective.
The ram that skinny sounds to far gone to me so its up to you, good luck.

I've been watching this thread closely for the past couple of days, this is how I would treat the ram.

This is recommended by Chris of Plymouth Discus, I have in the past used these treatments and they have worked for me. I have absolute faith in Chris, and IMO what he doesn't know about fish (all fish) isn't worth knowing :look:

Q: My Discus are eating and behaving normally, but i have
noticed white stringy faeces, is there anything wrong.

A: Yes, what your Discus are suffering from is an internal
intestinal parasite infestation. I have found this to be a common
problem and can be easily cured by treating the tank with a
mixture of Interpet No:9 anti-Internal bacterial and protozin. At
the dosage of full dose of both on day one, half a dose of both
on days two and three. On day four full dose on both and you
should find this has solved the problem.
C+Pasted from the Plymouth Discus website...

After using the meds, if the ram is still alive (he looks pretty poorly) I would then treat the whole tank with Wormer Plus.

Just my opinion :)
