I just got a new tank (46 bow with fluval 306) and it came with a day/night led light. It says that the blue leds replicate moonlight, does that mean that i can really leave the blues on all night and the fish will still rest properly?

I wouldn't leave them on all night the moon lights are mainly for saltwater but you could keep them on for an hour or 2 after you turn the main lights off or if you ever want to look at the tank at night without disturbing the fish too much

They don't exactly replicate moonlight, it's more of an effect, and naturally the fish would get many totally dark nights with no moon. It's best to give them a period of proper darkness every night I think. I have my main light on for about 8 hours, the blue lights on for about another 2-3 hours, then no light until morning.
If you have live plants they will do better with a period of proper darkness.
