For a while now there has been algae in our tank, it started a few months ago, went on holiday for 2 weeks and who was looking after our pets unplugged the filter of the fish tank 
Its been getting real noticeble lately, its dark green and seems to be forming like a gloupy carpet, from what i've been reading its blue green algae.
Despite the 2 weeks without a filter no fish died, and i recenly got a bichir and when i asked the store said it would be fine
Im still reading up on how to get rid of the stuff now but just wondered if anyone has any experiance with the stuff or tips they can post here for me to look back at
