Te gills are red because of the bad water quality.

Are scales sticking out?
If he really bloated epson salt baths.
He really needs an internal bacteria med. Myxazin an external bacteria med.

There anti internal bacteria med by interpet. But I don't rate the med much.
If you can isolate I would suggest furanol 2 by jbl. But only in isolation as it wipes the beneifical bacteria out in the filter.

Yes, the black widows gills are sticking out esp the left side? Does that mean anything more than whats already been said?

LFS told me Myxazin was internal med!!

Can't isoltate so unfortunately can't use what you suggest.

Will get to a shop I know is a good one tomorrow and ask them for a proper internal med I can use in the tank that won't bother the whole community.

Ok.
Sticking out gills can be due to parasites, bacterial, bad water quality etc.

Just make sure the fish are not flicking and rubbing and showing symtoms of parasites.

Phoned the shop I know is a good one and they say Esha 2000 is a good med.

Heading to the other side of the city to get it now. Hope it works! Hate to see the poor fishes suffering. Fingers x'd.

Once bacterial infections advance there hard to cure with uk bought lfs meds.

Thata me just back and put in the first dose of the 3 day treatment

The water change might have helped a little - the gourami was atually swiming about for a while before going back to rest on his inlet pipe and he's then swimmming about again - not done that in days!!!!

Black widows still swimming about, just looks dead sore with the red gills. Feel for the poor wee thing every time I look at it.

Hoping for a mirale for both of them

OMG !! tanks still a lovely shade of green with that med.All the fish are suddenly very active as if - what happened there?!!!! Lets hope I've not just killed them all - panicking!!!!!!!!!!!
