Blue Acara Turned On My Keyhole.

I have this crazy female blue acara. She had a mate but they did not get along once the fry hatched and well the male is gone now. The blue acara Lucy is her name picked a fight with Carl today out of no where. I was watching them and I saw Lucy nip at Carl the keyhole. Then Carl tried to just back away he is not a fighter. Then Lucy got mad and went at him again then they lick locked spung around it was not good.

I moved her to the 55 gal with the corys. I was going to move her anyways but was waiting till next wc.

She was looking rather full like she did before she spawned. I'm thinking maybe she was frustrated? Because they got along so well for months.

A hormonal female is never a good thing

After the problems you had with her with the male, then she is likely just a tempremental lady, removing her from the tank was a good idea and without anyone to spawn with she may well absorb the eggs, just keep an eye on her incase she doesnt and becomes eggbound, she may well just lay them herself and eat them.

Haha yeah. Lucy is one Crazy B****. She is doing fine in the other tank not looking as round. I noticed her breeding tube was a little bigger the day she went crazy. Silly fish. Thanks
