And yes, I also have some cichlids swimming overhere. My main focus remains livebearers but I also have non livebearers at my place.
Well, my blue acaras had a nest for the past three weeks... Of all eggs, 53 have hatched. They don't have the same grow rate as there are fry that are faster and more dominant to get to the food. Which is a kind of normal. I guess, I'll sell them next month. They're fast growers and they get big. They start to show some blue already...

assume these are "wild type" rather than electric blues???

Those are fish you can't sell here. Stores won't touch them, convicts or jewels, because of over supply. The cichlid hobby has really fallen away here, and the market for easily bred ones is stone dead.

I like ‘em , I like ‘em !
Thank you...

These are the regular blues. So, not the electric blue ones.

Well, overhere we can sell them but African cichlids on the other hand, are hard to sell. There's an over supply of Africans by private breeders which sell those fish for low prices. This makes it unable for the retail to sell them.

I haven’t really thought about it but you’re right . Back forty years ago and longer cichlids ruled the aquarium hobby . You saw cichlids you just don’t see anymore , like the Port Cichlid , and everybody kept them . All I ever see anymore is Rams and Convicts and the poor Rams are looking sad these days . They look so sickly and pale but the Convicts still look like they always have . After the atomic bombs fall and cockroaches rule the earth Convict Cichlids will rule the waters .
