a little while ago i came home to find my male blue acara on the floor because he jumped out of the tank while i was out
and ever since the female has been a bit shy, so i got her a new friend but i think i accidentally got another female. i just introduced them and they've been flaring up for a while and at one point they were lip locking for a bit, so i fed them but that only stopped them for 5 mins

anyway should i leave them together or take the fish back and get a male?

Most cichlids will flare at new tank mates. It is their way of telling the intruder (newcomer) to get out of their territory. They usually settle down pretty quickly if there is sufficient room in the tank. Leave them be for a week and see how things go.
In the mean time, perhaps ring the shop you got them from and tell them they are arguing. And if the problem continues, would it be ok to return/ swap the fish if they continue to argue over the next few days. Most shops will be fine with that, especially if you let them know what is happening. But before you take the fish back, give them a couple of days to settle.

Taking all the decor out and re-arranging may help as well to enable them to establish each others own territory.
