:/ ok been feeding my pk's bloodworms for some time now.during that time ive experimented with many different ways of trying to ration my blood worms.problem is i dont have alot of fish.so when i defrost a cube of frozen worms,i have about 80 worms and only a few fish.
i usually defrost it in a rice container, feed the boys, then put the container in the freezer.i defrost it again the next day but after that they look a bit off and i dont feel comfortable feeding them suss looking meet.i have some really good fish and i dont want to loose them to save 40cent worth of worms.

im curious to see how you guys go about rationing your worms.what techniques do you use?

You could cut the cube into pieces and only thaw out as much as you need at a time
I have enough juvies right now that we actually use up two whole cubes a day! :S

I just grab a piece, and let a bit of it go into the water. Hold the rest out of the water. Then the betta will come up and take however much it wants.

hmm ok.ive started chopping it up actually, find it much easier.hey crack, nah cuz i havent got new frys i just bought a few young females(chasers).but my male should be ready in a months time and ill get a good female from thailand.

next question, how many blood worms do you feed your bettas?ive been giving mine 1 in the morning and 1 at night.too much or too little?if i threw a whole cube in there hed prolly eat the whole thing so i cant go by his appetite.

I feed about 5-7 each, but I use Hikari brand bloodworms and they are a little smaller than some other brands.

thanks synirr your a champion.very helpful.i use resun blood worms, some asian brand.they are a decent size some almost 1cm long.i know hell eat a few,but i dont want to make him fat.
