Blimey!

awww sooooo tiny! keep the pics coming as they get bigger, i love watching babies grow!
will do, :good: i do feel a tad guilty though as whn trying to catch him i seemed to have killed a fair few fry, it just proves how fragile they can be, he was a nightmare to catch with trying not to net any fry esp with the amount in there it was almost impossible.

You should of lured him with a boodworm.......or better still.....used your remote control to move them out of the way :p :p

i did try the food method but he is a very bright one, and the blasted batteries in the remote ran flat :hyper:

wow, parenthood is a full-time job.lol what i want to know is... when will they be ready to be sold? i still have an empty tank all set up waiting for someone to move in :)

they wont be ready for atleast 3 months, ive got some fry going on sale soon though.

update, at a complete guess i would say that there has been about 40 deaths, still a load swimming around though and eating like little piglets. est about 250 left.

Very sad to lose any :-( :-( but it still leaves you with a huge amount of fry. What are you feeding and how often?

im not too gutted as i expected it, its hard to feed so many and get the quantity of food right, i went straight on to BBS 3 times a day this time to give them a massive head start, i think the deaths were due to me having to tackle with the male to get him out though.

UPDATE..... lost another load of fry, have got around 60 ish left which to be honest is a more managable amount atm, they now have a heater to keep the temp steady and eating like crazy.

sorry you lost a bunch of them, sometimes you just get die offs and have no idea why.

So sorry Daz :-( but like you say what you have will be much easier to manage from now on.....good luck with the rest of your little babies :good:

first water change done today, 50%, there is loads of them, most were hiding around the moss balls and it took an hour to catch them out of the bucket afterwards, all are eating very well and growing much faster than my previous fry have grown. heater added a couple of days ok and set at 27 degrees, extra airation and filter added today as well to help build some muscles in them from the excess current. there is about 70 surviving fry.
