i am setting up a cory tank and want to try and get the tanned look going on. i am going to add some pieces of drift wood to look like they have been washed down stream by the river and am using sand as a substrate (argos playsand tho....) i will add some moss and maybe a couple of small plants (dont want to over do it) and a few rocks. it will be dimly lit and i want to stain the water.
the corys i am adding are gold and green striped and i want to add a shoal of black neon tetras to give an all neon look in the tank.
i have bogwood in my main tank and it stained the water but not for long but did lower my pH slightly
what im after is the solution to keeping the stained water, i understand with water changes the tannins will eventually go but using something like almond leaves or blackwater extract that can be added whenever may give the desired look.
