lol this would just confuse the cichlid peeps

Better posting in "Cyprinids, Characins and Atherinids"

How ever Black widow's are egg scatters, and if you dont see them spawning you not nottice the eggas as their quite small and the will fall between gravel and all fish love eggs so they will soon be eaten up if left alone.

If you want to breed these fish you need soft water, and they should have a tank of their own.

Rearing the fry are difficualt and not simple. you should look into growing some simple live foods like micro worm and baby brine shrimp.

Sorry yes it tetra don't know what i was thinking, answered an angle post probably.

thanks for all the replys the pregnant female is with its partner in a seperate tank thanks for all

what u want to do is sofen the water, rain water can do this. or u can get chemicals to do is eaiser.

the eggs of many tetra's are photosensitive. this means that long periods of light may kill the egg's, so using 2-3 layes of marbels to hide the eggs from the parents are best and from the light, and keep it dull.

if u see them spawning or the the females looses alot of wieght the you should remove then and hopefully after 3 days you should see tiny fry stuck to the glass of the tank.

at 5 days they should be free swimming and this is when u need the tiny foods

liqufry #1 is ok but they need micro worm at first

then from day 7-10 get them onto newly hatched brine shrimp (this just take 24-36 hours to hatch)
