i have 4 black neon tetras 1 with a blue line above the black, and 2 without the blue. the smaller one with no blue has a squiggly line in the fin under its belly,a bit like a worm hole type thing, and a small clear roundish lump by its left gill. its not like a spot, more like a scale?? its protruding outwards. also somthing to note is a loss of color in its black stripe. now he/she was like this when i got her, thought it might go away after a day or two but it hasnt. there's no sandy type spots on him/her, no redness to gills, no fluff. he/she is very active and eating all the time. i have notice that the other 3 will kinda leave him on his own and he has been subject a bit of bullying by the bigger tetra with no blue line.

any ideas?

How many gallons or litre is the tank.
Waer stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

Do you mean a hole in the fin.
The lump does it move.
is the lump on the surface of the skin or beneath the skin.
Does the lump look like its filled with fluid.
Any signs of flicking and rubbing, darting, laboured breathing, excess mucas.

Can you load a pic up as not quite sure what you mean.

its a 60 litre tank, i started a cycle without fish, then told by my dad and lfs that i could add fish  anyway 1 week cycle without fish, fish have been in for 4 days. no test kit until wednesday.did a 10% water change today. temp is 79-81f

i couldnt get a decnt pic of him. he is small and my phone is poor for pics really. it doesnt look like a lump as such, its clear, no redness around the gills, looks kinda like a scale thats pertruding but its not a scale.no hole in fin, its like a woodworm trail inside the fin? does that make sence? they are all VERY active, they dart around the tank quite abit in a playful mannor. they spend alot of time in the left of the tank where the current is stronger, darting from the bottom to the top, they do it for hours!. today tho they have started to hang out by the filter and heater ( when heater turns on again), which are close together

i have noticed from day 1 that the little guy im talking about was subject to bullying and is often left out by the others, they seem to push the poor sod away? ive seen the biggest tetra bullying him but yet to see him nip him.ive aquired a 30 litre hospital tank which im setting up tomorrow and will start cycling. if he is bullied all the time i will seperate the little guy, buy some more tets and hopfully he will live in peace.

so with all this in mind, could his loss in color to his black stripe be caused by stress?

Take a sample of your water to the lfs and ask them to write the readings down for you.

it sounds like the tank cycling.
Every tank different but it can take up to 7 weeks to cycle a tank.

If there tiny holes in fins it could be nipping or bacterial finrot.
Does the thing on the gill look like clear blister.

If you only have tetra mix one tablespoon of salt into a jug of tank water, Stir till the salt disolves and add to the tank.

Water changes and increase aeration.
Once you have removed about 5 gallons of water just add one tablespoon of salt back to the water.
