Black Neaon Tetra

basicly as the title states. i have 4 tetras at the moment. 2 have a blue line above a thicker black one. 2 have no black lines just the thicker black one. any ideas? the ones without the blue line seem bigger, one is the bully of the tank! just noticed the black only striped ones have blue eyes too?also the bigger black only one is bulling the other black only one, im guessing they are males?

Black neons do normally have a reflective blue stripe above the black, but these are not always visible (depending on lighting) and may vary a little bit with breeding etc. The bigger ones are normally female. You really should be keeping at least 6, if you can, because they are schooling fish. If you get some more, the aggression might just go away and all of them could start displaying the more vibrant "breeding colours" (as far as that goes with tetras! and if they are not already doing that).

im a bit hesitant at getting anymore for the moment, i was mislead in the advice i got from the aquatics centre and bought them.my tank is not fully cycled, and i fear i would do more harm than good over stocking the already weak supply of bacteira. or do you think 2 extra wouldnt do much harm?also 2 of them have larger bellies than the rest, they were like it when i got them yesterday. could they be egg layden? they are all just over an inch in size.

for the last 3-5 hours, they have stayed to the left of the tank going from the bottom and darting to the top kinda taking it in turns.lol, ive adjusted the nossle on my filter and they just move to where the current is? is this normal tetra behaviour?
