Black Moor Attacked, Help!

Melafix is only good on cuts and wound.
I would of gone in with myxazin by waterlife and pimafix.
Have you increased aeration with the meds.
Check water stats aswell.

They didn't have any Myxazin there as far as i could see. He's throwing all his food back up now :-(

Yup, aeration increased and water stats are (using Nutrafin liquid test kit)

Ammonia 0 - 0.6... it's somewhere between them on the chart

Nitrite 0.1

Nitrate 20 (come out of my tap like this - I have nitrate removing sachets in my other tanks which means I get it to about 5... obviously he isn't in those tanks right now)

pH 8.0

He's finding it really hard to swim because he's lost most of his tail, and his left pectoral fin is gone completely.

I would do a water change with having an ammonia and nitrite reading.
I wouldn't bother adding the melafix back.
Did you overdose the melafix, dosn't sound like he handling the meds to well.

Just done WC of 50%.

In fact, I gave a little less than the bottle stated (5ml per 38L), just because he already looks so stressed. should I add some more salt? I haven't put any in his water since the forst time you suggested it, maybe thats where i've gone wrong

Gave him some bloodworm before his WC and he munched that down pretty well. I'm concerned that he's getting constipated or something - I know he isn't really eating, but I haven't seen him poo for a day at least, and when i vac at WC time, nothing really comes up. He's not fussed on pea.

Not all fish handle melafix to well.
Plus its not that good only really should be used for cuts, wounds, can only be used once fins are healing.
I would try an order some myxazin by waterlife, or see if the lfs have interpet anti internal bacteria med.
Is it possible to load a pic up of him onto the site.

They definitely had the Interpet stuff there, i'll get that tomorrow. I'll be back in 2 mins with pics.

:-(

Bless him he is in bad shape.
I would get the anti internal bacteria med by interpet.
Just hope he makes it.
Do you have any other bacterial meds in the cuboard besides melafix.

I've never had a sick fish before and stupidly wasn't properly prepared for such an event. all I have is the Pimafix, Melafix, some white spot stuff (I bought this, thinking that this would be the most common thing i'd need to treat for) and a bit of Interpet number 8 left over from when I purchased a fish with finrot.

I would gradually get the melafix out of the tank.
I would defianately get the interpet med.

Will get the interpet med tomo morn, though I won't be able to administer it until I get home at 2ish... I really hope he can hang on for me.

Dunno what would happen if I mixed the Pimafix with this Interpet No8, as it says it can treat cotton-wool like growths???

Maybe I can do a 100% WC (he's not in his proper tank, would this be a terrible thing to do?) and add this interpet med as i'm worried about him not making it until tomo afternoon :(

You can use pimafix with most meds.
I would get the melafix out of his tank, dosn't sound like he handling that med towell.
Salt would be better for now than melafix.

I didn't add any more Melafix to the tank when I did the WC, just the Pimafix at a slightly reduced dose. shall I do a 100% WC and add the anti fungus and finrot med?

Never rated that med myself anti fungus and finrot med by interpet. Only works in mild cases.
You would need to get all the pimafix out of the tank if you add the anti fungus and finrot med.
