I have black bar males and "wild guppy females", what are the chances of these being pure strain?

They certainly look pure? :)

Mqybe posting pics would give us more of a chance of giving u a good indication :)

Yet you seem to be pretty sure so pointless asking us lol.

Yeah i'd like to see them just to be sure- i reckon more likely to be hybrids but i'm normally wrong

I'm not sure at all!

Some males (notice their short, colourless tails):

Some females (notice how they're completely colourless):

Depends on what you mean by pure. They are almost certainly pure poecilids. Guppies and endlers both are. A wild type endler is a little hard to come by unless you get it from a short list of breeders. Most that you see will be hybrids with guppies or line bred endlers that although they derive completely from a wild strain have been selectively bred for a particular look. My avatar is an endler that I know can be traced to a wild set of endler parents but there is nothing special about his color. There are lots of different colors even in my own tank much less the population as a whole.

The male dose look like a true endler, but did u get the females at the same time?

However like whats already been said finding "true endlers" is almost impossible in shop's, even at a specilest auction on sunday i saw 2 pairs of ture endlers and about 5 of crosses!!

Be good to see a pic males and females together, to judge the size of the females.

Mine look similar-have a bit more green and mauve in but essentally the same. Who cares-they still look awesome. :good:

females are considerably bigger than males :)

true endlers the females are only 1.5" at the very most, their just a bit bigger than the males.
Crosses the females get much larger, This is only going by what u say though but a groupe shot would help.

They're just about 1-1.5" none bigger.
I'll attempt to get a group shot (they move around alot)
:)
