Bizzare Friendship

hi all just want to reprt on a strange pair up with my fully grown dwarf gourmai and 2 guppy fry (only probably 0.5 cm long) it seems that my male gourami is helping them out and chasing away all other fish that try to eat them its really bizzare becuase i would a thought since hes the biggest in the tank hed try to eat them. it seems that if the gourami moves then his two buddys are near. just shows that fish are pretty unpradictable

hhaah yer thats the more likely thing but hes been protecting them for like 5 days
maybe hes doing community service after all he did litter.

This is deffinatly weird. Never heard of anything like it. Ohh well, sometimes fish make friendships

its quite fun to watch him defend them. but i cant really see any reason why he would take care of them unless hes suddenly felt all paternal which would be strange coz its a fish to be frank and they usualy arent the best parents. would be funny if he thought they were his own
