Okay, I went to my LFS and saw blue crayfish, and thought they'd be really interesting. Came home, googled them and found they are from North Queensland. I thought, hmmm... might get one when I get a bigger tank. Then I looked at the Australian rainbows, and thoiught, ahah! They'd be too quick for the crayfish to catch. Oh look... Australian Rainbowfish are from Australia too. :p (Don't ask how I didn't notice this previously). THEN I thought... hey, wouldn't be cool to have an Australian themed tank! (Australian biotope.)

So, for a tank to be a true biotope do you have to have native plants as well as fish?

Thanks!

lucky north queenslander, if you go to one of our local rivers, there will be plenty of rainbows
Just remember to quarintine them if you do go catching :)
