Welcome to the forum javafish.
As long as the returning water keeps the wheel moving it is fast enough. I have no idea what your local fish shop means by primed but it may mean they have run the wheel on an inhabited tank and believe it contains some of the right bacteria to process ammonia and nitrites. If that is the case, the mollies will do better than they might do otherwise. It is certain that you need to test your new tank's water for both ammonia and nitrites. If you detect either one using a liquid type test kit, you will be in a fish-in cycle situation. That would mean you need to read up on doing a fish-in cycle properly for your fish's health. I have a link to our fish-in cycle article in my signature area.
