I bought Bio-Chem Zorb product and placed the pouch in the water without rinsing (the instructions were confusing). Now the water is cloudy black. I took out the pouch. But what should I do now? Is it harmful for fish?

Bio-Chem Zorb is a blend of 2 research-grade scavenger resins, 2 pharmaceutical-grade ion-exchange resins and high porosity activated carbon in a convenient filter pouch. Bio-Chem Zorb removes organic waste, toxic gases, water discoloration, foul odors and phenols in both fresh and saltwater, and toxic heavy metals in freshwater.

I can only take an educated guess which is that I would do a water change, maybe 30% and then see how it is.

You would think its OK as its purpose is to be placed in a filter/tank so it should be OK, but I would play on the side of caution.

I use Chemi-Pure, a near relative of Bio-Chem Zorb. I think also that there won't be harm, just asthetics. Do the water change and put some extra floss or Micro Pads to polish the water. It will clear up, but you may find some residue on decore for awhile. :)

I did the same thing a week ago—only with a different brand and a different kind'a carbon. I don't guess mine can do all that yours does, but I rinsed one and forgot to rinse the other—chaos broke out in my tank. It looked like someone dumped some chalk powder into the water. It cleared by the 3rd day. It never harmed my fish, though I was afraid it would—and worse, I changed from gravel to sand—even more chaos broke loose. It stayed a dark gray for about 6 days, and before that, while I was trying to get all the gravel out and had no extra tank or anything to put the fish in, it got very cloudy from the debris in the gravel that settled within weeks—still though all this happened, they acted like nothing was wrong, but yes, I was scared for them. yes, I'm relatively new with fish.
