Bigbruiser's - Fishless Cycle Log

No, this is correct. Mature media seedings quite often show less "pattern" of tall graph spikes because they bring the filter closer to the flat line of a working biofilter.

And often it is presence of N-Bacs that feels more surprising. Since each 1ppm of ammonia gets processed in to about 2.7ppm of nitrite(NO2) the N-Bac colony size in mature media is larger than the A-Bac colony size. Also, I've always thought that N-Bacs (Nitrospira) are slightly more stubborn to get started but also "hang tough" a little better whereas A-Bacs (Nitrosomonas) are a little more easily disturbed such that their colonies can get disturbed, go away a bit, but then come back.

Thanks guys it does make sence have redosed and see what happens. A couple of new questions from me the rio 300 will be here in 7 days ill put the external filter in and run it along side the jwel one. Do i redose based on a 350L as opposed to the 220L its in now? also my other tanks have ph of 6.5 this one is 7.6 my other tanks never went that high mid cycle, am i right in think the larger doses of ammonia will raise it during cycle and should drop back down when finished?

Redose based on the volume of the new tank.
The ph range affects the toxicity of the ammonia if remember. More toxic the higher the ph. And higher temps make ammonia more toxic.
Dont believe ammonia affects the ph level.
Time to call waterdrop!

Well the external filter seems to be doing fine should be in the 12hr testing this week. The new Rio arrives this thursday and im keeping the internal crap filter lol i figure the more the better and with 350L its not taking up mega space. Do i seed the new internal filter as well or just let it be along side the external? should i expect a mini cycle if i still dose for a week and keep an eye on stats?

You are right. It is time to start checking after only 12 hours instead of waiting 24 hours.
