Big Tanks , Big Water Changes

right pretty much as above , any ideas on making life a bit easier to do large water changes in a 540ltr tank !!!???

at the moment i attach my hose pipe to end of sython pipe and sraight in o garden , but filling back up now heres he problem

!!! tank is quite away from kitchen taps , any ideas , these buckets of water are getting heavy !!

A hose connecter for the taps or just use an outside hose

It's perfectly alright to hose water back in, as long as you remember these points;

You must add enough dechlorinator for the whole tank before you start refilling

If you don't have a mixer tap and have to use cold, then you must trickle the water back in over an hour or so, so as not to temperature shock the fish

You must turn your filter off so as to avoid any risk of any chlorinated water coming into contact with your bacterial colony.

I dont use Dchlor unless i do over 50% changes and you can just fill with cold provided its under 30% fish can handle a little temp drop

My bro has a big water bin (200 litres) and a smaller water bin (40l) He fills the smaller bin a few times and empties it into the bigger bin, treats the water and does all his stuff. Then uses an electric water pump to put it into the tank.

I also drain to my garden (300ltr tank) I re-fill using the hose attached to my electric shower.
