ammonia not tested....

did a water change as per usual yesterday - i do a water change of anything between 20-30% every 7-10 days. (never anymore than 10 days)

my other fish are fine...swimming about eating etc...

he's very quiet, lying on his side and the frount...i tried giving him some food before - he attempted but half hartidly....

He does shift if hes touched(accidentally touched him whilst moving a plant) and he can swim properly etc...

buti know hes not right.....

any ideas???

Does he look bloated.
What do you feed your fish.
What does it look like when he goes to the toilet.

he eats live food, pellets, dried bloodworms.....

havent seen him go....

he dosent look bloated to me,,, just looks normal....

just watched him again - he's eaten 3 small pellets and still staying where he is in his corner.....

Don't feed anymore freezedried bloodworms for a few days, Don't over feed them as they can make fish bloat up.

Laying on there sides can be bacterial and internal parasites.
Does he look pale or darker in colour.
Is he being listless any lethagic.
Any sores or red streaking on his body.
Trys some peas to flush him through.

ok thanks

he seems normal in every other way.....
not bloated o r off colour

it was this morning i noticed he was a bit quiet - and tbh i thought he was sleeping - but hes noramly far more actuve - he comes out in th day etc....

will see how he is tomorow.....

I would issolate him and maybe try a bacterial med.
If he's still eating also give him some peas.

Test your tank water in ammonia.
How often do you maintain the tank.
How many gallons is the tank.
How many fish and which type.
Is rare to have a nitrate reading of 0. Do you have live plants and what your tap nitrate reading.

i cant isolate him....

only 'isolation' i can provide is a breeding net which i dont think he would appreciate...

dont have aspare heated tank at the moment sadly

Can you answer some of the above question.
Anti internal bacteria med by interpet.

gallons no idea - but aprox 180 litres
balloon mollys/corys/2 weird midget plecs and 3 balas which are going this week...
have live plants.... i am loathe to do a tap reading as im fast running out of test strips....

he was meant to be going to a new home off someonfrom this forum but i dont see him going at the moment- as i wouldnt want to sell him and him die!

didnt seee the questions lol...

Test strip cards are not that accurate.
Liquid test kits are the best.
Does he look off colour to you like he looks ill.
