Bettas

i would like a siamese fighting fish. i am stocking my tank has: 6 neons 6 glowlight 6 chery barbs, 6 wcmm 6 rummy nose tetras and 8 amanos. i just want to know your opinion. do you think a betta would get on with these fish. or is there a risk of fin nipping?

DON'T DO IT. Tetras are fin nippers, and barbs are possibly one of the worst fin nippers you can get. Although you have a group and they are more peaceful than tigers, a bettas long fins will sooner or later prove too much of a temptation for either the tetras or the barbs. It's really more hassle than it's worth to even bother trying. If you want a betta then get one a tank of it's own. A really nice filtered and heated 5 gallon won't tank up much space at all.

Aye it's better to be safe than sorry. It might go ok for a while then all of a sudden bam! You have a betta with a shredded tail and a nice open door for an infection.
