Bettas And Aquascaping

Okay my question is - can bettas go into a nicely aquascaped tank?

I've been thinking i want to re-do my tank which is currently the home to 2 orandas, 3 platties and a ruby shark, and it isnt big enough, its about 30 litres i think, maybe a little less.

Anyway, i want to have a crack at aquascaping, and i also want a betta and i've seen stories of bettas hurting themselves on plants and rocks and decorations. I also would like to have shrimp but i dont know if these are safe to keep with a betta.

So bassicly my question is - is it safe to keep a betta in a well planted (with moss) tank, and keep shrimp with him?

Yes they can live in an auascped tank but only with live plants or silk plants. And I would get the Betta until you only have 2 platies in the tank, otherwise it would be overstocked

A betta will be absoilutely fine with rocks, moss, plants etc, just be careful of rocks/wood that are jagged or sharp...but you'd probably avoid those anyway.

Bettas and shrimp are a mixed bag....personally I keep a betta with cherries whoa re breeding like mad, and he leaves them alone, but some bettas do eat shrimp, you will probably never know until you try. Amano shrimp might be worth a go if you think yours might be aggressive as they're a bit bigger and more difficult to eat but there are no guarantees really.

To back up what Louise said, my fighter saw my cherry shrimp as lunch, but left the amanos alone.
