Alright, so I got a new Red DT PK male, along with another plakat male, which I think is blue copper or something along those lines, and a red/blue/white(patriotic..haha) Male Delta. The mdelta seems to be doing just fine swimming around in his current home, a vase, until I get back to my dorms tomorrow with his tank that has been cycling forever. Anyways, the DT PK doesn't seem to like to do anything but sit at the bottom of the tank. I had him in a vase and now i have him in a 10 gallon. I was thinking it was just stress because I got a Black PK male last week and he was somewhat like this and once I got him a new tank when I got to my dorm he started to swim and move around, after a day or two in the new tank. Or could it be a disease that I need to cure? I leave tomorrow morning so I need to get medications for my fish if I need to. Thanks!!!!!

Is he eating? Are his fins bunched up? Is he pale or what? If he's just sitting at the bottom and doesn't look sick I wouldn't worry, my tri band male did that too his first day home.

To be honest, I don't know if he is eating or not. I feed him blood worms (1-2) and I sit and watch him for a while. I dont know if he just doesn't see it or if he isn't eating. He isn't pale , but he is just sitting at the bottom of the tank. He isn't sitting straight either, he is sitting at like a 60 degree angle pointing in either direction. I dont know if this is normal or not for DT because this is my first one, but unless it is, I dont think its good for any fish to be sitting like that. When he sits at the bottom he isn't using his fins either, so it looks like hes just sitting there, dead. But once in a while he gets up to swim to the top..and then sits back down at the bottom. I noticed he did this yesterday right before I went to sleep as I was watching him. Does that help clarafy everything up?

Do you have anything in the tank that can give him a sense of being hidden? He may just be stressed from the move to his new home. I would give it a while and see what happens before trying any medications.

Was he shipped to you or did you get him at the lfs?

I just got to my dorm and he does have a place to hide now. He didn't before and that might have been the problem. But he's getting better. I got 3 of my bettas from my same lfs, I found two deltas at Petco that were beautiful, and I got a female from Walmart that is doing great! I also got 3 coming from aquabid. But it seems one of the bettas from the lfs has gotta fungus..some how. So I am treating it right now. My DT PK however, seems to be doing a little better. Ill give him a day or two to get used to his new home. Thanks!!
