What would you guys say is more important to a betta - a place to hide or more swimming room?

What would you guys say is more important to a betta - a place to hide or more swimming room?

clean water
as for hiding places, i find floating plants do the trick, especially if they can hang out on them. swimming room is important too but bettas really don't do a whole lot of roaming around, they have their "territory" and usually keep in that area.

i donno about bettas for sure.... but i kno id rather be swimming than hiding

It depends on the betta. They can be all "Ahhh!!! Human Run!!!" or "Oh yeah look at me I'm pretty and big and strong. You want some , Huh?"
