Betta Plants - What do you recommend?

I want to get rid of my plastic ones and get some real ones. So what do you guys recommend for bettas in particular?

In this case I think the plants would be more tank-specific than fish-specific.

How much light do yout tank/bowl have? substrate? water temp?

I use flourescent light. the light is as long as the tank (5 gal./16 in). Plus I get some moderate sun light in my room. However, I placed the tank where it won't get any direct sunlight, just reflected light (like off my walls).

medium-fine substrate - natural

78/80 degree F - 26/27 C

You have basically the same tank I have, so your light is probably kinda low unfortunately. I have a java fern, java moss, and hornwort doing well in there, and some anacharis that's doing ok after some acclimation, but it could be better.

I definitely recommend java fern. I have one in with my boy Jack and his cories - they looooove it. It has two babies too, so if they have babies and those have babies... I'll have enough for all my betta tanks from just one plant! (Sorry just thought of that... hehe)
