Lady Erica is upset with the competition next to her and will not pose today

Bottom left boy who flared so much. He spends all his time at the tank side calling bubble blower out

There is something to be said about a nice red VT. One of my favorite fish still. Especially bottom right bubble nest blower. Gorgeous fish, very little wash, at least in the picture. No name for him yet? I recommend Loge, Norse god of fire. Find a fire god name somewhere. All your other bettas are great but he's super hot!

Thanks!

I think I am partial to the bubble blowing boy. He is a nice red. Just what I was going for. It's hard to resist a VT that has a cup full of bubbles. But The warrior is intrepid, too, flaring and wiggling in his cup. I do believe Ares would be nice for him. He is not as friendly as Bubble Boy. I am still considering the home builder. I don't have much time this morning.

But as you can tell I like Fynn. The new girl doesn't show her colors well in a pic. She is very small with flesh/pink in her fins and of course lots of green/turquoise.

Who ever supplies Bettas here has a good red VT line going.

Educate me, llidjma, what is red wash? He is a very solid red. That is what I was really looking for.

They're all so wonderful. :D I like your girl... I think I'll go for a girl betta tank next time.

Not a red wash, just a wash. Sometimes a red betta will have a little "wash" of another color, like a light coating over a basic color. Mostly a metallic blue or green. Sometimes, it's just present in the scales, or in the roots of the fins. Your betta doesn't have much if any of a "wash". He's a pure red, very hard to find. Most reds, have a bit of blue or green in the scales and fins if you look hard enough, or their bodies fade to black or brown, but I'm hard-pressed to find any in yours. It's the sign of a pretty good line of red. My marble DT has a irredescent "wash", if you get my meaning.

Hope that helps a bit. Might not be even considered a term to be used with bettas, but it's just how I perceive color quality.
