I think bettas are one of the most interesting fish because they seem to be very unique. My betta, swims from one end of the tank to the other in a Z shape, he chills at the bottom sometimes but the top is his territory. he will eat food off my finger but he doesnt ever seem to get feisty with any other fish (he lives in a community tank) although he does tease the other fish sometimes by swimming past and brushing his fins over them!!

what does your betta do?

If you go back a few pages you will find an identical thread to this where people filled in their betta personalities :)

Bling: lol, he never shows off is moon like tail. Makes me sorta sad but he does hate me. When ever I walk up to the tank he hide:(
McLovin: He cant STOP showing off. I do not think he like me either because when I walk up to him he flares, that or he is just the biggest show off ever.
Kiss: Kiss makes weird faces at me when she is hungry or happy. And sometimes when I try to take a picture she arches her back to show off he musles (If she was human).
Velvet: Not my fish but I took care of him for about a month and I KNOW he hates me:(

awww hun i'm sure they don't hate you at all thay are just funny like that

I have 2 boys right now and they're so different from each other. One is a delta tail that is just a ball of energy, always goes nuts when i wave to him, eats like a pig and loves to dive bomb into a bush of java moss.
My other boy is 100 times calmer, always has this mad look on his face and is the picky eater, its gotta be just the right size, just the right time and it better be exactly what he was expecting or he'll just go on a hunger strike and eyeball me till i give him "his" food (which happens to be the smallest floating pellets i can find).

My delta tail is also super friendly and will try to swim into my hand when i'm working in his tank or moving plants around, I even housed a female with him for a few days while I got things ready for her in her permanent home. He did his dance and wiggled his butt the best he could but she wasnt having any of it lol. But true to his personality he never once attacked her and was more the show off than an aggressor. My other guy would have shredded her to bits if she didnt mate with him that instant!

Current bettas...

Raj is the biggest goofball. He LOVES playing. He's in a divided tank with my female Afia on the other side.
He'll plaster himself against the divider teasing Afia. She'll be on the other side of the tank flaring at him and he'll just be stuck to the divider I'm sure laughing if he could :p heh
Also when I had mossballs in the tank with him, he loved those things. He would stare them down, then all of a sudden dart out at them and take off a small chunk of fuzz. He'd spit the fuzz out, watch as it slowly drifted down and then stare down the mossball again as if to say "Yeah, see what I did there! I'm bad!" Then when he got tired he would lay beside or on them :p

My female Afia is sorta strange. She's a piggy as most bettas are, but she will stare me down until I feed her. And when she spots me looking, she'll eyeball me, then look up at the top, then back at me, then at the top again hehe. She also used to do this thing where she would swim rght up against the glass and just got up and down up and down with her nose on the glass. I have no idea why o_O
She loves watching & playing with Raj through the divider. I've never caught her doing anything goofy towards him though.

Marius is my curious fella. I just got him so haven't really had a chance to get to know his personality though, but I do know he was not shy.
As soon as he went into his tank, there was no hiding whatsoever. He looked around for hours, and whenever I got close to watch him, he didn't shy away at all, he'd come right up to inspect me.
I did have this really fast growing stem plant in with him. There used to be a bunch that would float at the top, and he just LOVED scooting through it. It all died though when we went on vacation for some reason so I had to throw it away.

My dearly departed bettas...

Caine was the biggest showoff. He knew whenever I was taking a picture b/c he would come right to the front of his tank and flare for me.

Bluebell was such a sweet fat girl. She lived in the community tank and absolutely loved cories. So much so that she would swim and rest with them. She also had a relationship with the ram as well. They too would swim and rest together.
