First time poster on the site, and I wanted some advice with how I am treating a couple of my bettas. I very recently started a sorority of bettas in my 10 gallon, a group of five young bettas purchased from PetCo. The tank has been running for a few months, housing two false Julii cory cats and one live plant (unsure of species). After being added and having a few days to adjust to their new home, they all perked right up and have been very active, exploring the tank and eating readily. Last night I had issues with two of the bettas.

The first betta has been lethargic and had rapid breathing, a lack of appetite, and pinholes in the tail. I took her and placed her in a container with clean water and a piece of aquarium salt and floated her on the surface to keep her close to air, visible, and still have her be part of the tank. This morning, I checked on her and she was slightly more active, breathing normally, and her tail was intact. I am keeping her in the cup until I can verify that she has gotten better.

Also this morning, I noticed white, cottony patches on a second betta (very confident it's fungus). I was less sure what to do with her, but I did something similar and placed her in cup as well, though I added Betta Revive instead of salt. Nothing has changed yet, I'm sure it's too early, but she is very active and eats readily, only other symptom was flashing and vibrant stress stripes.

I wanted to check to make sure that I am handling this situation appropriately and not inadvertantly dooming my bettas, and if there are any other steps I should take to keep my bettas healthy and happy. Thank you in advance!

Tank is 10 gallon and filtered with a heater at 78 Fahrenheit. Lots of cover, including live plant, and 20%-25% water changes every 7 to 8 days. I can't provide any other information on the water, as I don't have a water testing kit which is my mistake as a pet owner, and that the water is conditioned.
