Well hopefully the wife will agree that another tank fits into the decor of the living room!!!! 55 gals is no small unit! Well, maybe in the den? Here's hoping.

Believe me, when you get older you will realize there isn't much of a difference!!!!lol Luckily for me my wife and kids like all kinds of animals. My home has eveything from fish to dogs, hamsters, lizards, rabbits, turtles, and the occasional deer or two outside our fence. Thankfully were done with the rabbits and turtles. I'm just waiting to see what shows up at my house next.

My daughter is allergic to cat fur so NO CATS!! That, by the way, is no problem with me! I'm more of a dog person. Our dog is a long haired dauchsund and they don't shed.

nice i always wanted a dog but my mum will never let me get one so i jsut gave up.

We went through a few before we found her. It was really a process of elimination and advice from breeders. She has no issues with the dog at all. She has hair, not fur, so her hair grows just like ours with no shedding. So maybe you can talk your mom into a dog.
