as you guys no i got my first betta yest and i also got some food (hikari betta bio-gold) is this food ok and i was wondering what you guys feed your betta?

he has just eaten 3/4 pellets now which i think is good cause i only got him yest

I feed mine tetrabetta and brineshrimp, brings out the colours really well.

I would of thought it would be ok as its made for them....

i have frozen brine shrimp and daphinia. i cant seam to find frozen blood worm tho i have freeze dried blood worm is that ok for him?

Some people say freeze dried food can cause internal damage unless it's properly soacked before hand. Where abouts in sunny Scotland are you if you don't mind me asking? If theres a pets at home near you they have frozen fish foods or if you happen to be near Glasgow I can give you the name of a fab shop that does it :)

i am in lanark i get my frozen food from pets@home in either livingston or straighton but the never seam to have blood worm. i am about 40 min from glasgow

The Coral Reef sells it though (think they are on Paisley Road West but I'd check that, my sense of direction leaves a lot to be desired). I would drop them an email to check they have it in if you were to make the trek. The p@h by b&q in Great Western Retail Park also usually have it. Would it not be possible for your p@h to order it in for you maybe? Good luck finding some!

The hikari betta bio-gold is all my betta's eat, they gobble it up as soon as i drop it in and seem to go mad for it lol. So i dont see what the point in changing it or giving them anything differnt.

i give mine a mixture of betta bio gold, frozen bloodworm and live brine shrimp and daphina. Midnight likes variety and gets bored with the same food every single day!

just a quickie, are brine shrimp basically sea monkeys? cos they look the same!

A boiled, shelled pea once a week/fortnight is good too. Keep them regular ;)

Make sure you let the pea cool down and mash it up.

I don't know if you ever get into Edinburgh or not but I would recommend Aquacadabra. This is pretty much central Edinburgh. It has a good supply of food for bettas, frozen foods as well as live.

Congrats on the betta-is it the pic on your profile? He's gorgeous! Did you get the hikari betta bio gold from p@h? Only seen it online so far.
