looks pale and when a light is on him looks bronze cant remember what this is is or how i am supposed to treat it

if it looks like gold dust on the fish using the flashlight its velvet. get some anti external parasitic meds. where are you located for specific med (not all anti-parasitics are used for every type of external parasite). also, and may be your easiest method of treatment for now until you get medication, keep the tank dark! throw a blanket/thick towel over the tank. the parasite can not survive without light. keep tank dark for 5 days. do big waterhcange first, feed the fish as regular and cover the tank. keep it covered and tank lights off.
is he flicking.scratching on things? has he lost his appetite? lethargic? just a few questions.
cheers

im in the uk

he seems a bit slow and not as active but is still eating ect and keeps hiding in his coconut house

not too up on my UK meds..look for meds with copper treatment (assuming you dont have any inverts)...most ich meds have copper. it is the most effective against velvet.ich (which are related).
does he have clamped fins? rapid breathing as well?
good luck.
cheers

fins look like they are starting to clamp a little havent notice rapid breathing but he did go to the surface for air today and he has never done that before as the water is disrupted and therefor oxygenated

the meds i have atm are, aqurium salt, pimafix, melafix and a whitespot/ick med
i added some salt to the tank as i know it is pretty successful with most betta problems
