I am looking around for a new project and I am starting to think about Bettas. I haven't kept them before. I have limited space at home and I am wondering about getting a custom built betta tank to hold five males. The tank would be say 48 inches by ten inches by ten inches divided into five sections seperated by glued internal glass partitions with a gap at the bottom of the partitions to allow them to share a common under gravel filter - but with enough banked up gravel to prevent one fish getting into another's section. The U/g filter system would hopefuly also keep the water levels in the sections balanced.Do you think this will work? and will the sight of other unreachable bettas through the glass partitions cause stress and/or injury to the fish? I will be grateful for advice and suggestions. Gyillmard.

you can have a small UGF in one section only which will save cost and the hassle of setting it up, what you gotta think about it what happens when you need to get under the filter, you'll have to half destroy the tank, i would go for mesh dividers and then the circulation is gunna be better for them,

Thanks - I hadnt thought about getting the filter out of the tank. What sort of material would you recommend for the partitions? I did toy with perforated plastic screens but I was worried they would cause abrasion to the fish. Gyillmard

This is what you need.....Filters and power head at one end, fed back via spray bar
