hi
we have just bought our beautiful betta bert a new home and as one of our 5 year old cory pair just died have got 2 new baby peppered corys for our big tank. as we have just bought a new 6ft tank to upgrade our 4ft tropical and are going to change the substrate to sand instead of the gravel which we hate we thought we'd put the baby corys in berts tank so they can have sand to whisker around in until we do the dreaded change from old to new big tank.
all was fine until a few days ago when i noticed one of the baby corys munching on berts tail, our betta likes to rest under a tiger lily plant & when he does this his fins trail on the sand. i thought the cory must have just happened accross this rather tasty finnage & started chewing. i shood it off but after catching the same thing happening a couple more times & berts tail looking a bit worse for wear ive had to move the baby corys into our 4ft tropical tank with gravel which i didnt really want to do.
i know corys are not aggressive & this must have just been unfortunate but ive never heard of anything like this before!!!
bert is now safe to park under the lily without being molested he now shares his new home with 3 baby khulis & a couple of ottos.
has anyone else ever heard of corys with a panchance for betta or any other fishes fins??? id like to hear from you
thanks

A cory did that to my first male betta, and the betta turned around and killed the cory. Your corys must be brave or stupid lol
