Well, I was observing my new betta Calcifer... and realized just how much I love bettas. I had the vague idea of maybe breeding them, but don't worry - I'm not going to jump into it without a thought about costs or where I'm going to sell them... if I get enough. Even if I do breed them, I need to get all the equipment and a female.. and I need to get to know my Calcifer. :hyper: Seeing as how I don't know really how old he is, if I were to breed, I wouldn't use him. I'd probably try to find one that's young and agressive.. plus a female. :D Until then, I just want to know some basic questions about your experiance with breeding bettas.

1) Did your female and male get along at first? Or did they fight?
2) How long did it take for them to breed, and to be introduced.
3) How many fry survived? What happened to the ones that died?
4) Would you consider this worthwhile... or not? Was it a learning experiance but not neccasarily good or bad?

Thanks.

Just my 2 cents, but read all the FAQ articles at the top of the page before asking a load of questions as they may answer them :good:
