Betta Breeding Questions

okay so how much space would i need for the new borns? could they live altogather in a 10-12gallon and then afew in a 5 gallon and maybe if i can i could use my 6 gallon (me and my friend are gunna pair up for this) so where looking at about 20-22 gallons for them would that be okay? will i have to seperate the males and females? im going to sell as soon as possible since i don't have enough room to keep 100 bettas id probly only keep two.

You'll want to keep them all together, this may work but... :/ Twenty gallon minimum is the usual rule, do you have a decent place to sell?

Listen to K.J. and you'll never go wrong :D

okay well what do you think would it work? i got two good lfs to sell them two and i also found out one of my females is a CT!! my friend owns one of the lfs so he could probly put them in something bigger if i asked nicely...

Personally... I'd just spring for a 20 gallon, and use the 10 gallon as well. You can even use a huge 20-30 gallon tupperware tub from W*M. They cost like $10.

You will need to seperate the males from the females as soon as the males begin to show aggression... which is around 2 months, sometimes earlier, sometimes later. Even some of your females will be too aggressive to keep in with their siblings. So, it's also important to have plenty of jars on hand. If you're going the small (less than half gallon) jar route, you'll be doing WC's daily. I prefer 1+ gallon "jars" for each juvie, because it gives them more room and you can wait 5 days between WC's, which is reeeaaaally great. Trust me!

I recommend doing a little more research, just to get all of your basics down. Look before you leap! ;)
