My new betta keeps swimming up and down the back wall of his tank. I'm thinking stress. I've checked his water and its fine. There's nothing to spook him he's in a quiet corner of the room. I've tried a ping pong ball and he's not interested. The only time he comes to the front of the tank is when it's feeding time. I have the filter buffering off the back wall to reduce flow. I'm stumped.

Sounds pretty normal for a betta, Whats with the ping pong ball? It's not a dog XD

A lot of betta owners add in "toys". Bettas are very inquisitive and appreciate odd things in their tank to investigate

Anything else in the tank? They appreciate company, something else moving around in the tank seems to improve there mood.

No he's on his own. I have another betta tank with another single male in and he's fine.

My new betta Phil

lovely boy.

How "new" is he? Bettas are known sulkers when put into a new environment.

About a week old. He's eating fine. I've got him on hikari betta bio gold. And sera bettagran. Maybe I'm just worried because he's not as chilled as my other betta.

They do have different personalities. My bettas are as different as night and day.

Oh I see. Ill try some more play with him and see if that works. Thanks.
