Betta And...lampeyes?

I was wondering on the above combination, has anyone tried it? I know about bettas different personalities etc. I was thinking the 10g that has Calcifer and 2 frogs with lots of coverage, or with Reno in his slot, he is an active little fellow who likes to explore but pretty subdued. I know these guys are shoals but wondering what minimum to try first...if alls well can build. Lastly I have spare emergency tank as well.

Any thoughts opinions welcome.

i havent tried it but i think it will work...they dont attract much attention to themselves and IME theyre not really fin nippers

Thanks truckasaurus, I am really tempted to, what do you think 10gallon best bet? May try shoal of 4 though 6 may be better....

Well Ive got them decided for once to just go for it and so far so very good. It could go wrong but so far really really good, will keep posted and hopefully if something does go wrong, others can learn by my mistakes.

I agree, I see no reason why it wouldn't work. I have lampeyes in my 30gal, very peaceful pretty little things with their wee blue eyes . And they don't have long bright fins so they shouldn't incurr any betta rage

It is going well! Very well! I have rehomed the frogs and Calcifer seems well much more content and happy with them. So at the moment have 6 lamps with Calcifer, how many shall I bring the shoal to? Or is this good? Love them they are great!

Have blood worm and flake food as read they are not fussy so hope all good.

In a 10 gal 6-8 is fine

Well just a quick update it is..day 3 and the mix of these is good and much simpler to feed.
