If you have something that he can hide in you can leave him in and keep watching closely. If it starts again then move him over. Keep us posted.
Thank you for your reply. Thereā€™s 3 live plants in the tank, he hides behind one in particular the one shown in the photograph.

I will leave him as he is for now as youā€™ve advised. Thanks so much for your help! Much appreciated. I will follow up.

Sorry I forgot to add thereā€™s a little hiding pink castle in the tank,,Iā€™ve seen him in once today. Heā€™s more active and swimming round his tank. Fingers crossed all will settle, Iā€™m adding more plants in shortly that I bought for his new tank before they die out in their little packs and baskets! Thank you.

Put a picture on the back of the tank so the fish feels more secure. You can buy aquarium backings form pet shops, or use coloured card, plastic bin liners or newspaper. Basically anything to make the back feel like a solid object and the fish will feel more comfortable.

If you have trouble keeping live plants, get some Water Sprite and grow it on the surface. When you have lots of it, plant some in the substrate.

Thanks for your reply, you have a fair point thanks for ruling this out.

Iā€™ll look into getting a background, would doing the back alone be ok? Or would I need to do the sides too? I would prefer to do just the back as I use the sides of the tank to look at the fish sometimes, due to my tank being on a bedside table.

I use to cover my backs only.
Thank you for confirming! Iā€™ll order one for the back only in this case.

Iā€™m struggling between choosing out of two at the moment I like two different backgrounds. I hope I donā€™t end up having to get both lol. Their double sided images as it is and both sides are different on each image.

Thanks for great advice as always :)

I love #1.
Number 1 it is! I have just placed my order. I agree with you.

This was my initial one first until I saw the second one that seems to be more popular and selling out quicker for some reason.

Thank you for all your help, itā€™s appreciated!

As promised.. a picture of my tank with the background attached. Itā€™s difficult to see with live plants.

Note: this isnā€™t my permanent heater Iā€™m awaiting a new digital one as my last one broke. Hence the low waterline itā€™s not fully submersible.

The fish seem to like it though so thank you for all the help and advice.

That looks great! Man, you got it fast too.

Thank you very much! I couldnā€™t have decided on which one to choose without your help :)

It did arrive quite quickly, it was sent via 48 hour tracking.

Next on my to do list is adding some finishing touch, sparkly aquarium gravel!

Thanks again for all the advice and help :thanks:
