Best way to get and keep sparkling clear water?

You should really replace your lighting once the end of your tubes turn a dark colour. If you dont know whta i mean, look at your tube after a few months. It will start to develope a dark ring at each end of the light. replace it when these form.

Light bulbs are generally lost after about a year. But if your not running anyplants i dont really see the need to replace bulbs unless they blow or stop.

As for keeping water crystal clear, you can use filter floss in your filter, which filters much smaller solid wastes than normal filter media and try some activated carbon.
