Best Way To Clean Sand?

just got quite a big bag of black sand

moon sand or something?

well anyway whats the best way of cleaning it? preferably without half of it ending up in the sink!!

Fill half a bucket with sand and then run the tap in the bucket till the water is overflowing. Swish the sand around until the water runs clear

Half fill a bucket with the sand and then turn the tap on. Make sure it's not too strong though as it will end up in the sink like you say. Swirl it around with your hand a few times/ Once the water runs clear, you can empty that out and start again with more sand.

i read somewhere that you put it in a pillow case and put the hose in, havent tried it personally.
