as a boro fan i would have to say

1. boro vs st bucharest
2. boro vs basle

both matches 3-0 down on agg and need 4 both produced
3. liverpool vs ac milan probably the best comeback ever in a major final was an unbielevable expierience to watch

You've already stated it, undoubtedly has to be:

Liverpool vs AC Milan 25th May 2005

3:0 down at half time in the biggest club competition in the world against a very tight side with good defence. Steven Gerrard gives the best captains performance ever, inspiring Liverpool to bring it back to 3:3 surviving late strikes form the best striker in the world (Schevchenko) and go on to win on penalties We won it FIVE times.

The Boro comback is pretty good too, though the quality of the opposition and the competition isn't as high as Milan in the European Cup and in the final at that. Not to detract from it, because it was a superb result

There are some greats though, 4th Jan 1994 Liverpool again 3:0 down this time to to ManYoo, drew 3:3. 29th Sept 2001 ManYoo 3:0 to Spurs and won 5:3. And of course ManYoo winning the European cup (The one we permanently own ) in 1999 1:0 down to Bayern Munich in injury time and went on to win 2:1 (Even I cheered )

We are unlikely to win the world cup, now it appears that Rooney has a metatarsal injury and Sicknote Owen limped off in his first game back this year. So lets hope that 2 English teams win the 2 European competitions

Ok, time to toss in a little American baseball.

How about the 2004 American League Championship Series between the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees....whom are bitter, bitter rivals (people have been shot in both Boston and New York for wearing the wrong team's hat).

Anyways, the ALCS is a best of seven series and the Red Sox went down to the Yankees 3 games to none. No team has ever come back from a 3-0 deficet. Well....man....brings back good memories and is WAY too much to recount here but the Sox tie it up in the bottom of the 9th inning at 4-4 at Fenway park thanks to Kevin Millar hitting a single and then Terry Francona pinch running Dave Roberts who stole 2nd base in what is probably the most famous steal of all time and then Bill Mueller brought him home with a single to tie it up. Long story short, the Red Sox win it in 12 innings, go on to beat the Evil Empire in 7 games and swept the St. Louis Cardinals in the World Series 4 games to none.

This is considered by many to be the greatest come back ever and is especially sweet once you realize the Sox hadn't won a WS in 86 years.

(the following year, 2005, the other sox, Chicago White Sox would take their first World Series Championship in 88 years, two historic seasons back to back)

for me it was last seasoon my team glasgow rangers were all but beat in the league as celtic were running away with it however we managed to claw back points3 games remaining then it wen down to the last game and celtic just had to beat motherwell a lesser team on the last day to win the league we managed to score against hibs and win our match though celtic were winning with 2 minutes remaining and there fans were jumping and dancing.............................but what happened next i will never forget motherwell scored two goals to beat celtic in those last 2 minutes and as tyhe saying goes the helicopter changed direction bringing the trophy to easter road for rangers to take back to ibrox what a day

all that metatarsal talk makes me laugh.. why cant they just call it a toe.. i dont know which is the 1st or 5th metatarsal, but i know which ones my big toe and little pinkies are!

its all well and good talking about bringing it back from 3-0 down to win on penalties or aggregate but BY FAR the best come back (with a little bias opinion) was southampton vs leeds united, 3-0 down 71st minute the 1st goal and 86th minute the 4th goal, the perfect football match aswell all goes in the away supporters end and just feeling generally crap at half time then literally screaming at full time. if u can find the video on youtube i recommend watching as it really will give u goosebumps.
