Best Species For Hard Water

I am in a hard water area and wondered what species would be best for hard water and a beginner

Aphanius and African lake killies spring to mind,but many of the commoner Fundulopanchax are ok,for me anyway misaje,lafia,nsukka are a few that have bred for me
