Possible, but not a good idea. Bettas do best in smaller tanks (I recommend 30*30*30cm to 60*30*30cm), while Apistogramma usually do well in larger tanks (90-100*30*30cm or over).Ive made another thread, these wont go with a betta I dont think.
I have kept them in large tanks as well. My reasoning for saying smaller tanks are best is that, at least in my experience, the average male tries to control too much territory in a large tank and can stress himself to death, trying to defend it. I have found that large tanks work best if they are heavily planted (with a lot of floating or surface covering plants), but bare ones do not.I have kept Betta splendens in tanks of over 100 gallons with no trouble at all Kitty Kat. The tiny tanks are more often favored by people who think that they are uber aggressive fish, which they definitely are not.
