Best Gravel?

I have just set up my tank about 3 weeks ago with sand, but today i changed to gravel. I wanted something better for my plants.

I bought 15kg of aqua grit for £32. A little late i know but is this stuff any good? I have t5 lighting and a jewel rio 125 with standard internal filter. I really want the plants to do well.

At the moment all i have in there is....

aquagrit gravel, bogwood, plants, 10 black widow tetra and 6 pepper cory.

can anyone advise as to what direction i should be taking now? I am now lost as to what i need for the plants and what else to stock it with

I'm sure someone from planted will come and advise, maybe you might want to re-post in that section to get some more answers and have a look through some threads, they contain some beneficial info. Im new to planted too and was helped out in the planted section.

It can be a little confusing at first, but I assume you are going low tech. For an example, I was advised on my 100L planted tank to not exceed 1wpg as im not using co2 injection, to dose through the water column with something like TPN+ and to achieve a nice turnover of the tank to help distribute the nutrients more evenly. I too bought a plant subtrate and capped it with fine gravel.

Although my tank hasnt been setup yet and i cant give you an overview of how its working out, this is probably some of the things you may be asked if you want some more info on how to proceed with your plans.
