Can someone please tell me which is the best filter to get for a 10 gallon tank.

I am currently using an Aqua-Tech 5-15 power filter, with advance 3 stage filtration.
I have 5 black skirted tetras & 6 serape tetras. From what I've read on here I believe I am over stocked.

I am new to this and appreciate all the advice I can get.

Thanks

Well, in this hobby, with the filter being at the core of the hobby, a filter choice is a pretty personal thing. Cost, ease of maintenance, visibility... can all vary quite a lot for people. For a 10g I might suggest you look at an Aquaclear 100 HOB or an Eheim 2211 Classic or a Rena XP1 and of course there are really nice Fluval internals if you want to go that route and research those. I recommend you store any carbon they give you, for use later and buy more biomedia when you get the filter and just replace the carbon with that (biomedia such as sponges, ceramic rings or ceramic gravels.) You want the filter flow rate to take you above 5x turnover and 10x wouldn't be bad.

I think an aquaclear 100 would be wayy too big for a 10 gallon. I have an aquaclear 30 on my 10 gallon that works perfectly. The aquaclear 30 produces a strong current in my 10 gallon so I think 100 would be far too much.

IMO a Rena XP1 is getting a bit big for a 10 gallon. It might be OK on a 15, but I usually use them on 20 gallon or somewhat larger tanks.
